The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board is launching the Psychiatric Mental Health NP (PMHNP-C) certification examination in 2024.

One-time no cost PMHNP exam for eligible AANPCB certified candidates (ANP-C, AGNP-C, ENP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C).

One-time 50% off PMHNP exam for eligible non-AANPCB certified candidates.

For a limited time, we are offering this reduced-price incentive to encourage ALL eligible candidates to sit for the PMHNP exam between April 25 and May 30, 2024. Your exam score and certification will be available late July*.

*New certification examinations need a minimum number of exams taken before beginning the accreditation process. We estimate it will take up to 2-3 months to obtain accreditation and for state boards of nursing to officially recognize the PMHNP-C certification.

How does the cost compare to the regular AANPCB certification application fee?

Who is eligible to apply for the psychiatric mental health NP certification?

Eligible NP candidates will have graduated, or be graduating, from an accredited graduate or post- graduate PMHNP program.

A complete application with payment is required to receive an eligibility to test. Once the candidate sits for the PMHNP examination within the required timeframe of April 25 and May 30, 2024, they will receive the applicable refund.
