The 2020 Commissioner elections were held October 13 - 26, 2019. AANPCB is pleased to announce that Josie A. Weiss, PhD, FNP-BC, PPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FAANP was elected to serve on the certification board beginning January 1, 2020. Incumbent Dixie Harms, DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, BC-ADM, FAANP was re-elected. Both will represent Family Nurse Practitioners. The term of office is three years.

Dr. Weiss is a certified Adult, Family, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in primary care roles with underserved patients for 25 years and volunteers on healthcare mission trips abroad. She is Adjunct Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Nursing, has authored multiple manuscripts, and presented nationally and internationally.

Dr. Harms was elected to the Board of Commissioners beginning January 2017 and currently serves as Treasurer. She is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management and works full-time in Internal Medicine. She is Clinical Faculty at the University of Iowa College of Nursing, is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP) and serves on the Catholic Health Initiatives Advanced Practice Leadership Council.

The Board of Commissioners would like to express gratitude to Kerri L. Rupe, DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, COHN-S, FAANP and Lorraine M. Reiser, PhD, CRNP, FNP-C, FAANP. Dr. Rupe's term will expire on December 31, 2019. We thank her for her service as Commission Member-at-Large, Secretary, and member of the Nominations Committee. We extend our appreciation to Dr. Reiser for her willingness to contribute to both the business of NP certification and the NP profession by serving on the Commission.

Certificants who cast their ballot during this election were entered to win a voucher for the waiver of their next recertification fee. A random drawing of two names was done following the close of the election process. Thank you to all who participated in this election process.
